Later, in 1993, Kim headed the start-up of a loss control company exclusively for public entities. While there, she implemented an in-depth, targeted loss control and training program that reduced the losses for one of her clients by close to $1,000,000 in three years. Kim has also received a Special Award from a large state association for the betterment of public entities due to these efforts.

In 1998, Kim founded KLA RISK CONSULTING, INC.,This is the same year she created and managed a safety program that won a George Coleman National Safety Council Award. Kim is sought after as a speaker and trainer throughout the country and in the United Kingdom on safety topics. She was a main speaker at an international construction conference on Safety Best Practices in Stratford-on-Avon, ENGLAND and has presented multiple times at the American Society of Safety Engineers Annual Conferences. Kim is a published author of numerous loss control and risk management articles in professional periodicals, including Professional Safety magazine and continues to write for safety and client-based newsletters. Kim is a current member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
SANDRA M. ARNOLD
VICE PRESIDENT – OPERATIONS
Sandra Arnold brought to KLA Risk Consulting over 30 years of executive management and human resource expertise as part of the staff of one of Ohio’s largest hospital networks. One of Sandra’s functions was to oversee safety and JCAHO audits.
Sandra joined KLA Risk Consulting in 2005 and is responsible for the operations side of KLA Risk including company and client statistics/metrics, client correspondence, staff management and financials.
KELLY L. AUSTIN, PsyD
VICE PRESIDENT – HOSPITAL WORKPLACE VIOLENCE
Dr. Austin is a subject matter expert (SME) in hospital workplace violence (WPV). As the Vice President of KLA Risk and a psychologist (PsyD), she has responsibility for all aspects of KLA Risk’s Hospital Workplace Violence division.
As a keynote speaker and presenter, Dr. Austin speaks on numerous aspects of hospital workplace violence. She speaks in-person and via webinars for hospital, nursing and risk association conferences nationwide. Her active memberships include: Ohio Hospital Association’s Safety Leadership Council (workplace violence adjunct member), Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL) and the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
